Consumables Recycling Solutions

How to sustainably recycle consumables is a question we are often asked.
This challenge is familiar to many businesses, including our own, which is why we are excited to partner with Oldham-based WBM Ltd. Their service offers a zero to landfill solution, a rare and valuable option in our industry since waste toner boxes are typically not fully recyclable.
Recycling Options Available:
- Circular Planet – a FREE service for customers who use OEM toner (genuine Develop). This service targets those with new equipment and is funded by the manufacturers. Consequently, only original consumables and parts can be placed in these recycling boxes. For more information, download the Circular Planet service details and to participate, register to receive a recycling box.
- Print Recycle – a premium, paid service that ensures zero landfill waste and provides essential waste transfer certificates. This service is ideal for customers using compatible consumables, particularly those who switch consumables after the manufacturer warranty expires (typically after 12 months). This option is also suitable for re-manufactured products. For more information, download the Print Recycle service details and to participate, register here.
Dan Whalley, Managed Services Manager at ABS, praises the service: “this is the one of the best services we have found in the marketplace. Having a true zero to landfill service is unique within our industry, and we are delighted to have found a solution close by.
“When we first heard of WBM, we were fascinated by the ultimate usage of the waste. Elements can be used in the manufacturing of asphalt for hot climate countries, with Australia currently being the largest buyer, followed by Southern Spain and France. Additionally, WBM is forward-thinking and collaborates with Huddersfield University to explore innovative ways to use components.
“When businesses register for their recycling boxes, it initiates a waste tracking process, ensuring a paper trail, including a waste transfer certificate available on the client web portal.”
