A community comes together to celebrate the first-ever 10K through the streets of Halifax

This past weekend marked a special moment for the local running community as the first-ever Halifax 10K took place in Sowerby Bridge on Sunday 5th April. Organised by Halifax Harriers, the event brought hundreds of runners to the streets for a fully closed-road 10K, one of the flattest and most run-friendly courses in the area, with just 78 metres of climb, designed to appeal to runners of all abilities.

We at ABS were delighted to be involved as a race sponsor. Supporting the very first Halifax 10K was a privilege, and it was inspiring to see the community come together to make the day such a success.

Thank You to Those Who Made It Possible

A huge congratulations and thank you to Halifax Harriers for producing such a well organised race day. From planning the route to managing race day logistics, their dedication was visible in every detail.

A special shout-out to the course volunteers – many of whom were out very early despite challenging weather – helping with marshalling, water stations, and encouragement throughout. Their efforts ensured runners could focus on giving their best without worrying about logistics.

Celebrating the Runners

Well done to all the runners, including those from Team ABS! It was terrific to see so many people out on the course, enjoying the atmosphere and achieving great personal performances.

The inaugural Halifax 10K is a wonderful addition to the sporting calendar, bringing community, fitness, and local pride together. We look forward to seeing this event flourish in the years ahead!
