Jacob’s Heart-warming Adventure in Sri Lanka
Jacob Crawshaw has recently returned from a whirlwind trip to Sri Lanka, a journey that combined adventure, challenges, and moments of genuine connection. From being caught in the middle of a cyclone, spotting elephants up close, indulging in incredible local cuisine, to dealing with some serious plane delays, Jacob’s trip was anything but ordinary. Despite the chaos, he made sure to squeeze every last bit out of his holiday, and wouldn’t change a moment of it.
But while the trip was packed with excitement, one experience stood out above the rest: visiting The Eliya Children’s Home for Orphans in Tangalle, a project proudly supported by the ABS Foundation. Jacob had mentioned before leaving that he would spend a day at the home, but nothing could have prepared him for how special the experience would be.
Visting Eliya Children’s Home
At Eliya, Jacob met with both the children and staff, gaining insight into the Foundation’s ongoing work and sharing ideas for future initiatives. The visit was not only eye-opening but also deeply moving, highlighting just how lucky many of us are and underlining the importance of the ABS Foundation’s work in creating long-term positive impact.
Jacob reflected on the day at Eliya as one of the real highlights of his trip, emphasising the importance of strengthening partnerships and exploring future projects that can make a lasting difference in the lives of children.
We’re thrilled to have Jacob back safely and look forward to continuing our support for Eliya and other ABS Foundation projects around the world. His trip serves as a reminder that even amidst adventure and chaos, moments of meaningful connection are what truly stay with us.
